As a team Manager I have a very varied role, supporting the customer assistance, managing service to customers, Duty manager for the shop, working with central office teams, recruiting, partner managment
I have become more aware of different methods of managing a team and leading a team, carrying out 1-1 conversation, developed active listening
It was a challenge but made me more aware of myself as a manager and provided resources and tools to support my role
It suited me, as I have regular catch ups with my mentor and apprenticeship support mentor. Modules help focus the work and written pieces helped to assimilate the information
My employer suggested the apprenticeship and my manager supported me with regular meetings and catch ups
regular meetings, catch ups and email contact when needed was helpful, they would reply to emails and organise vc if necessary. Built a good relationship which helped
I think it was a useful introduction to tools and systems to aid my everyday role, made me realise that its never too late to learn new things
yes, varied opportunities for activities from crafting to parenting
Yes
The partnership is a very inclusive work place where the ethos of community and responsibility is part of everyday working. It is ethical and environmentally conscious business which aligns with me
Research what the company stands for and understand partnership, John Lewis is unlike other workplaces as the partners have influence over the direction of the company, we have a democratic voice.
