  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • No day is the same. But my day to day involves supporting the HSE team in the implementation and maintenance of Health and safety practices. Some of my responsibilities include; carrying out site audits and inspections, updating and reviewing SHE documents, managing and maintaining occupational health, working with UST to coach people on Underground Services and trialling new equipment.

    • Yes developed my communication/presentation skills and computer skills. Learnt a lot- auditing skills , managing people, core skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

    • I really enjoy the programme. Have been involved in so much and learning all the time. I also fell really supported by the people I work with whether thats with developing skills and understanding or with college work

    • Programme is well structured and organised. Clear deadlines to meet

    • Feel very supported, with college work and additional on job learning

    • Workshops to develop knowledge, one to one coaching sessions every couple of weeks and progress reviews

    • Qualification has given me knowledge to perform in my job role eg have knowledge of laws and guidelines

    • Lots of opportunities to network eg Early Careers events, workshops, Christmas get togethers
