I am a programme manager for the Continuous Improvement and Robotic Process Automation workstreams. My role includes pipeline management, overseeing of KPIs and project management for strategic projects within the Inventory department.
Yes I have developed my learning of change management and leadership. I have researched the different leadership types and have learned what types are suitable for different scenarios. In addition, doing business ethically and strategy management, how do understand the value proposition and leverage this.
I enjoy my programme, I think it's suited to me, my skills but also my aspirations for career progression. The only thing to improve would be alignment between tutors as sometimes we get conflicting advice which makes the task harder.
The course is very well structured, we have assignment brief's, structure and requirements for all assignments in advance.
I am very lucky to receive great support from my department. Not only do we have monthly support sessions for apprentices, but my line manager is keen to adjust working times for when university workload peaks.
My tutor has been very supportive throughout the course. She has answered all questions and has provided feedback each progress review so i can better prioritise my time where I need it.
I feel better equipped in being a confident leader. It has allowed me to build on my competence which has reflected in my confidence in the workplace.
Yes! We have a Neighbourhood team (which I am a part of) in my department aimed at making the workplace a nice place to be. This includes bi-annual social gatherings. Along with my team social events, which happen on a quarterly basis.
Yes
I would recommend the Inventory department at RS as their human-centric approach to learning and development has allowed me to take numerous development opportunities, pushing me outside of my comfort zone while providing 1-1 support through mentoring, coaching and monthly catch ups with my line manager.
RS will be what you make of it - if you want to make a difference there are avenues which you can have the freedom of doing so - however if you just want to come in and do the job to get paid, this definitely caters for that too.
