Focusing on the day to day interactions that a Quantity Surveyor would do. We gain valuable insight into payments, how to act in a workplace and the team are supportive if an error is made.
Talking to the client, subcontractors and other people in the offce. It has also taught me to be more organised. Task management is also important, and what to prioritise.
I like the experience of it and the pressure. I like the fact that everything I do has a real effect on the project. It's very rewarding and satisfying when a job is done correctly. I believe that the work at Birmingham City University could be better however. I personally find it not as thought provoking and it doesn't relate to a Quantity Surveyor day to day.
Very organised. The support is great from VINCI and I don't feel excluded in the office.
A lot. If I am struggling, I can go to numerous people for support.
If I am struggling with my university work, I am given time to complete this which is very helpful.
It will allow me to progress through the ranks and improve as a quantity surveyor. I can see a clear pathway into a more successful future at VINCI.
Yes. There are regualr work night events that act as team bonding, to show that we aren't just colleagues. However, I would like sports teams as I feel it could be a nice distraction from work.
Yes
The support is ecellent. I feel like I've learned a lot in a short space of time. The people are good to work around and I look forward to work everyday.
Apply as early as possible. That shows willing and eagerness which is key to a successful future.
