My role involves communicating between team members, managing my preliminary packages on-site. Issuing IPC's, Instructing change, forecasting profit and loss & applying up-stream to the client.
I have developed my excel skills, communication skills, gained new skills in methods of analysis when doing assessment on sub-contractor quotations
I Enjoy the programme but it is a lot to manage with the extra mandatory learning Mace deliver + Uni lectures take up time in the week + Assignments & exams, Recording every piece of learning too. There isn't as enough time in the week sometimes to keep on top of workload.
It is fairly well organised however, due to busy schedules, people in the business cancel/ re-schedule meetings/ development sessions very regularly. This makes it hard to plan out your week and plan holidays. As we cannot take holiday over development sessions.
As mentioned there is a lot of support.
There is support available, We get a skills reviewer who can help you with anything you need.
The first two years of my Chartered degree apprenticeship in quantity surveying, is about general construction knowledge. I believe its helpful however, the knowledge recieved hasnt helped me perform better in my day to day role. Help with excel and quantity surveying specific learning is what will help me the most
