At the moment as I am with the maintenance team I will help conduct Planned maintenance and help complete certain work requests where I am capable. I will also accompany the current maintenance technicians to any breakdowns they attend and help where I can and where I am needed.
I've learned and developed a few of my skills relating to the machines and mechanics across the worksite as well as further my understanding of the company work standards and ethics further to help complete my intended roles to a better standard than previous.
So far my apprenticeship has been enjoyable when conducting tasks and different kinds of work across site. There have been times where the lack of independent work has dampened the feel of the apprenticeship, restricting my own responsibilities.
The apprenticeship seems, for the most part, to have been structured well and works as it is intended. However, as we are expected to move around site this part of the apprenticeship doesn't feel as fleshed out as intended and seems to be both changing theoretically whilst staying very static in practicality.
There is plenty of support provided by my employer and training provider, giving me ample opportunities to speak up and gain the support required.
My training provider provides a few opportunities for support towards my qualifications, however, it can feel difficult at times to seek out this support as it comes across as difficult to find the time to approach.
I personally feel that the qualification itself is quite detached from my Job role and doesn't help support my work very much other than adding little bits of theory knowledge that doesn't massively help in practicality. However, i believe come the second year with an expanded variety of units this will help me to effectively perform my intended job role.
There are a handful of these activities and they seem simple enough to become apart of them, although i don't have much interest in participating myself at this point in time.
Yes
The work itself is comprehensive enough that it keeps you engaged in a positive sense but doesn't overwhelm to the point of de-motivating and making you become avoidant.
To stay proactive and to keep an open mind to different approaches to the jobs.
