  • I am accountable for the selling tech strategy for Waitrose. This involves influencing budget holders to sponsor change programmes

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a lot about running high performance teams, effective delegation, project sponsorship, influencing and negotiation, and models for driving and delivering change effectively.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I feel I have got so much out of this programme. I've levelled up in knowledge, skills and behaviour. I have become so much more intentional in my approach to work as a result of this.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured. The first 12 months has been delivered as online training, split across 6 units, with regular tutor check-ins to see how I'm applying my learnings. The next 3 months are the end point assessment - a project I have to deliver.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer fully supports me. They have given me a day per week as non-working time to dedicate to the programme. My manager encourages me to share what I've learned with the wider team.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Corndel have been super supportive. Their online training platform (Aptem) takes a little getting used to, but then it guides you through the course well. I have monthly 121's with my personal tutor, and a quarterly session with both my tutor and line manager together,

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This course has definitely given me super powers. I understand the forces that are motivating and resisting change better. I know how to approach transformation such that I can increase the chance of successful change programme. I know how to understand and motivate my team so much better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The John Lewis Partnership has many societies and groups to get involved with, including a ski club, a sailing club, a music society and a theatre group.
