Service field technician, repairing and installing broadband, television and telephone systems. Being the face of virgin media. Every day we would complete atleast 10 customer visits to help restore or maintain their services.
I learnt how to deal with all types of customers and their different personalities. They gave me all the knowledge i know regarding the telecommunication industry.
The apprenticeship team worked well together to help each other through the programme. You have your own dedicated management team as well as an area manager to go to for any support.
Manager would give good constructive feedback to help you develop as a technician.
The programme was well organised in the terms of management team and getting you out on the road by yourself, however when it comes to looking at all areas of the business they need to show you how other sides work.
Alot of support was given with monthly meetings and weekly conference calls to see if their was any extra support that we needed.
My mentor gave me lots of support throughout the programme and even once i was qualified. My apprentice manager gave me more support than my area manager.
The salary was very good for an apprenticeshop and their was no travel costs as virign supply everything for you.
Their are charity days and team building events organised by the company.

Could company to work for, and treat you whilst on the apprenticeship at the same level of respect to all the other technicians.
