  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently responsible for procuring raw material for future projects. I communicate with several suppliers for their support and follow key quality processes to ensure the material we procure is exactly what is required. I will move placements ever 12 months to experience different areas of procurement e.g. raising orders and closing orders.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills within the 6 months I have been part of the company, many of them different to what I required in my previous career - teaching. I have been able to understand the end to end processes followed within procurement and what part I currently play - requests for information and ensuring quality is correct. This has been supported by the company within placements and through the training they provide.
