  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • A Check caseworker dealing with factual matters submitted by ratepayers or their representatives. I review information submitted against information held by the VOA as well as against verified third party sources. In some instances, I will inspect a property to obtain the factual information. This information enables the VOA to produce valuations for a property.

    • Developed a range of existing interpersonal skills along with learning a range of new skills such as inspecting properties for rating purposes, drawing up plans, technical skills required for the job among others.

    • Thoroughly enjoy the programme.

    • The program is well structured with alternating weeks, weekly workshops and support sessions with tutors from the training provider covering a range of topics related to the job.

    • A great place to work with friendly and helpful colleagues. A family friendly workplace which offers excellent flexible working options. Also the salary is decent too.

    • While most of the work is straight forward, if in need of help, to reach out to others as the people are very helpful and friendly
