  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training providers have a review with us every few months where we can ask questions and ensure that we are on track to achieve our qualification. Other than that we are able to request quick meetings with our tutors if we have any questions about anything relevant to the course. we also have many resources we can access to do with safe guarding, health and safety, and more. If we ever have any issues with our training providers, severn trent does not hesitate to reschedule out and fix the issue.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role is quite specific so finding a training provider that only taught us things relevant to my role would be difficult. Currently my group is a mix of design engineers, surveyors and highway engineers who all are taught the same content. the teaching is split into different units so often the teaching doesnt feel very relevant to my role, but other units may be far more relevant and will help ne perform better at work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Severn Trent to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Severn trent is a very diverse company welcoming to anyone from any background. It is easy to access any support needed and there are many other benefits that the company provides its employees. As an apprentice i am treated equally to any other person at the company and feel included within my team.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Severn Trent?
  • I believe a big part of what got me my role was trying to be as relaxed as possible in the interview. Being rigid in an interview doesnt allow your personality to show.
