  • My day to day consists of digging out footways and relaying them with tarmac and relaying and setting water and virgin boxes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to use power tools, such as a stihl cut-off saw, a compactor plate and a breaker. I have also learnt how to use new equipment such as trowels levels and string lines.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it most of the time but some days when it's the same process every day it does get a bit boring.

  • It is structured so I know what most of the jobs we do however when it comes to training and knowing my whereabouts but beforehand, I wouldn't know until the day so it is getting better.

  • I receive good support when it comes to ppe and what training i have coming up

  • I receive a lot of support when it comes to training and understanding the practicals we do and how it compares to the outside

  • I can take tips from them and embed it into my work

  • Yes

  • It is a good job to have with a stable income which makes your work feel like it is actually worth the time and effort you put in


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vinci?
  • i would say to just be honest when doing the interview because if you have no prior experiences or anything they don't judge and accept that you may be new to the industry
