my role is a ringway apprentice. the gang i work with there job role is VDC (drop curbs) so on a day to day basis i learn more about the job and get stuck in. they teach me lots of new things and i get to have a go at doing things too so that when i finish my apprentice i will fully understand what im doing and be able to complete all tasks to a high standard.
yes i learn a lot of new skills and have developed a lot of existing skills like my confidence
i really enjoy my program
very organised as the college are really helpful and all lecturers are really good. my supervisor is also very organised as he has a folder with all of my things in so we can go through them together so i know where to progress
alot of support if i ever have any issues i know where to go for someone to talk to about it
i receive a lot of support when working towards qualifications and always finding out what else i need to learn to pass the course
i have learnt a lot of theory at college which backs up the practical we do at college and on site giving me a stronger understanding of why we do it and how to stay safe while doing it
we have a lot of activities like darts on a Mondays night. once a month we all get together and go for a curry night. and there is also a football team
Yes
the experience and support i have had has been amazing and the organisation and structure of my appretaship has made it enjoyable and stress free
apply straight from school as you will learn a lot more doing a physical apprentaship where you are outside working more than doing the theory
