My role is to maintain the a1m and surrounding roads. At the moment ive been litterpicking some days, and some random jobs. Recently cleaned the yard. Ill go in the morning then load up the van with the right equipment for the job ive been allocated and do that for the day and if done, go back to the depot tell them and get assigned another job.
i have learnt quite alot of skills at college, such as using a cat and jenny. Using lots of new power tools. setting up some traffic management. Lots of health and safety. At work the skills i have learnt is a slight idea on how to lay a curb but to be confident i would have to do it a few more times.
College and work are both is alright, depending on the topic/type of work. Its good having an apprenticeship but if i could learn more skills and get more training so i could do so it would be nice. At college we do a different practical every month so gaining more knowledge.
The structure of it is okay, but if i was to be involved in more jobs at work it would help me with the epa when it comes too it.
I recieve support when its needed and questions are answered.
College are very helpful going through powerpoints too get you educated on the topic and performing practicals so you have experience on the skill.
Helps me perform better as it gives me awareness on the job, as ive performed it during college during practical and gives me basic knowledge.
Theres an apprentice day on thr 29th april where all apprentices can meet. Apart from that im not aware of any.
