  • I'm a footways operative who role on a day-to-day basis includes ripping out footways around Worcester and Malvern and replacing them with new curbs or resetting the old curbs and laying new tarmac.

  • I have developed more patience when it comes to working in teams and further teamworking skills. New skills I have learnt include laying curbs and tarmac, using plant.

  • I enjoy the programme and being allowed to work with a gang who are very welcoming

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very organised joined a gang on my first day and the college dates are sorted for you along with travel, and hotels.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I can recieve as much support as I need and when i ask my supervisor they will sort it as soon as possible.

  • We receive as much support as we need as one person strength may be another's weakness

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Most of the skills I have learnt from this job happen outside the college dates however college is useful as it strengthens those new skills and makes you more confident in the new skills.

  • You can do your Duke of Edinburgh through Ringway and there are many more oppotunities.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It a skilled job which cant be replaced by ai in the future so there will always be work for people and we need younger people getting involved in this work environment.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Ringway Jacobs?
  • Be open to the experience of others and get as much exposure to new things as you can.
