  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks consist of the use of various types of tooling to complete set processes within the manufacturing of motor vehicles by hand and general basic maintenance tasks set out such as cleaning or checking a piece of equipment. The role involves daily interactions with other associates and process supporters to ensure quality standards are met and issues are resolved efficiently.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Within my role at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars I have developed existing skills such as the use of various types of tooling to secure components, I have also learnt how to use a Torque Reaction Arm further developing my skills with tooling equipment. I have also developed my communication skills throughout my apprenticeship both formally and informally.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to a high standard, this is because the programme has offered me many new opportunities that I hadn't had before as well as the opportunities to develop my skills and gain new knowledge that furthers my overall understanding of the manufacturing environment

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme with Rolls-Royce motor cars in structured in a good manner, from the beginning of the programme I was aware of different sections of the programme that would be happening at different times. My overall programme includes sections completed at college, the structure of the lean manufacturing course with my training provider was effective and well explained prior to different sections.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer provides all support necessary to ensure smooth completion of the programme as well as additional support from all different types of situations to the best of their ability. This is achieved through the use of apprentice advisors within the workplace that you can enquire too for anything regarding the programme as well as any additional support required where they can pass you on the right team if they cannot provide the necessary support themselves.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider provided all support I needed from them while working towards my qualifications, the lead organiser and tutor of the college course was always open to help with any questions you may have regarding the content within the course to ensure you can keep working efficiently and understandingly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification provided by my training provider helps me to perform better within my role to a good standard. The qualifcation had both theory and practical based elements that ensured I enter the workplace with a greater understanding of the safety legislations in the workplace as well as the practical understanding of tooling and its uses.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within my workplace there is numerous different types of extra-curricular activities to get involved in for apprentices, such as annual team building days with all apprentces and charity events to raise money for the companies house charity that year. there is also activities such as providing factory tours to guests.
