My apprenticeship at Rolls Royce involved doing placement within the Rolls Royce factory , mostly within Interior Trim in leather shop as that what my apprenticeship mainly involves. I spent roughly 1 month in each placement, where i was given feedback at the end of my placement on my performance.
I have learnt many new skills such as: -covering -learning to use machinery such as : laminating , splitting and skiving. I have had the opportunity to get some good networking skills by doing school events, or being part of team meetings.
i have really enjoyed how well planned my time has been at rolls royce as i have had the opportunity to go to many new areas and network and of course learn what the areas do which helps build up a good idea of how the cars are made and how the areas are all linked
As a whole the apprenticeship was fairly well planned. The first 3 months at college could do with being a bit more organized as we had a lot of time off waiting around till the afternoon. We could do with being told a bit more ahead of time when there are shutdown times and what we will have planned as an apprentice as in my experience this is where the day get long if we don't have anything practical to help with.
I felt like i received support whenever i needed it from the employer but again it can take a bit long to get any information back with certain issues or queries.
i received the correct amount of training and support when working towards my qualification at rolls royce. At college it can be difficult when there is only one teacher per classroom. the teacher isn't fully supported at times and it makes it a difficult environment to work in at times.
It helped me gather a better understanding of my knowledge in the workplace which the theory lessons and concept like the 5s. overall was beneficial to me and would say that this part of college was the most interesting.
yes but I don't know exactly was is available as I haven't looked into it.
Yes
Because it has been beneficial for job experience and teaching me about how a big company works. It teaches you soft and hard skills which are relatable to other jobs. they pay a good wage which goes up every 6 months all whilst learning which helps with motivation.
apply and doing your research on the company to give you the best shot at getting an apprenticeship or job.
