Production Coordinator organises the production of a BBC programme from development to post-production. This involves organising travel & accommodation, booking crew, locations & equipment, creating call sheets, formatting scripts and completing post-production paperwork.
Yes I have learnt a lot about the production process in TV, as well as soft skills such as communication and team work.
I enjoy the work experience at the BBC itself, I did not enjoy the apprenticeship work at Bauer.
The Bauer programme felt disorganised, the BBC work felt structured.
I received support from my employer with regular check-ins and contacts I could go to when I needed help.
I received little support from my training provider, and the support given felt mediocre.
My qualification had little to no help on performing my role better - my performance was solely helped by my experience working on the job at the BBC
Yes, though I do wish they were advertised more
Yes
My experience working at the BBC exposed me to great opportunities and contacts that I will use for the rest of my career, I got to work on well-made programmes and with some wonderful people.
The qualification training by the outside provider was mediocre at best, but it was worth it to work at the BBC.
