Machining components for the build of MOD submarines
Both. I already own metal machinery snd had basic skills and understanding , but I've learnt extra knowledge methods and procedures with working eng solutions out and furthered my skills and capabilities .
Good/great . Can't wait to get to work some days great support from all staf levels and colleagues at work. Very flexible and understanding support system in place, love shift work. My work life balance has never been better .
Generally good and college is well work out largely in course content and orgaisation of classes. Skills coaches monitor work loads and develop plans and targets, further learning available, pay good for level of work , sometime demanding workloads but all jobs have times of high demand manufacturing .
Lot and lots . There's a department, support and monitoring for any problem you could have, extra activities to engage with if you wish too and fantastic encouragement from leaders constantly .
Good on request all lectures will assist and go the extra mile to ensure you can get all the information required . After that it's down to the student to take up the information . But largely I've found the content and teaching very good .
Larger, broader content of the course give a bigger manufacturing knowledge of the industry than my job role would actually require , but that's a good thing and assists in development and potential promotions or other job roles within the bussiness
Lots and lots , I'm not really bothered about sports , and I have 2 small children so I have limited spare time but if asked to help out I'd be more than happy to assist any activities where and when I could .
Yes
Just a great employer, work incentives, good feeling of being looked after, expanding bussiness and great people . I wish I'd had done my job 10 -15 years earlier
Research the bussiness, most roles require good to fair maths and English qualifications , research the job roles well. They can be confusing and go talk to the skills recruitment teams at the walk in centre in the town or the open evenings .
