  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I had no prior electrical knowledge, i have expanded a lot on this. On top of that i have learnt a lot of information about health and safety, and as this is my first time at a large company i have also learnt a lot of people skills that without the exposure i would have never learnt.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Its very well organised considering how large the business is and how many hands things have to go through for decisions to be made. The apprenticeship team are great and always get back to me, i know if i have any problems i cant resolve they would help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider has been ok, there has been some shortfalls but nothing too major. They are making the effort and getting on track more and more, and they pay attention to us if we raise points.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are not many activities in my area however there would be no one against organising them. Some of the other apprentices arrange football matches. My mentor organised to take me to the ELEX trade show to meet others in the industry, see what is happening and new inventions which was great. My employer fully supported this.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Tesco to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Coming from external to Tesco, its much better here than the other sites i have worked at. There is no unnecessary pressure and you are trusted to crack on with your work and seek help when needed. This has not only made me more efficient but it makes the work more enjoyable, management are great at helping, the benefits are incredible too.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco?
  • Show that you are passionate about what you are applying for.
