  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • Overall management of insurance programmes and associated claims; management of risk mitigation measures and ownership of health & safety/compliance software

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

    • On this apprenticeship I have furthered my knowledge of key concepts relating to risk assessment. I have also been able to assess in depth the impact of human factors and applied these to the study of disasters.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

    • The programme is highly relevant for my role and helps to further build the bridge between my insurance responsibilities and the wider health, safety and risk teams. I am very much enjoying the content!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

    • As it is an MSc Apprenticeship, there is coordination required between my provider and the university, HWU. There is a clear structured approach with modules studied each semester.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

    • ALDI have been very supportive, from the initial encouragement to undertake the studies, to the regular touchpoints to discuss elements of my coursework or the wider application of concepts to the work we are undertaking.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

    • Compass have been approachable throughout and feedback received has been useful to help me identify strong points and areas to improve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

    • This qualification is providing a depth of knowledge on new topics I had never studied before and so is highly relevant to the work I do,

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

    • There are events that are advertised by Compass, and regular opportunities to contact other students.

    • Yes

    • ALDI place a significant amount of responsibility on employees and those who thrive in that kind of environment will enjoy working here. For me, the breadth of topics I am able to influence is huge and the people I am fortunate enough to work with are excellent!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?

    • ALDI allow you to develop quickly and provide the environment for you to showcase your skills.
