  • Carrying out routine maintenance including changing sleepers, renewals, inspections and patrols, and training courses to achieve competencies

  • I've learnt many useful methods on how to effectively maintain the railway, including the use of various power tools and plant.

  • The apprenticeship provides very in depth learning to ensure all aspects of the job are covered

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The combination of inspiro learning and on the job learning is a bit messy, especially as academic takes priority over on the job learning. Having more job based training would be beneficial

  • Employers are very welcoming, knowledgeable and understanding. They will provide any support required.

  • Training courses are very thorough and all the additional support required is provided, providing you ask for it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training provider training covers topics in great depth however a lot of content isnt relevant. Many questions are asked to relate the training to our day to day role.
