  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my day-to-day, I receive opportunities to connect with our local agencies to create partnership projects that we can cascade out to our markets. This includes hosting monthly connects, community calls, as well as capabilities sessions surrounding multiple partner case studies in Digital Marketing.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The biggest skill I have developed since starting my programme is leadership and project management. Over my time at Unilever, I have received the opportunity to lead multiple projects, as well as leading a Future-Careers social media sub team of Apprentices, IP's and Grads!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive plenty of support from my training provider at GingerNut Training. We have continuous 1:1's and check-ins to recap on my progress. As well as this, my training provider works with my employer to ensure that I am getting the correct study time I need.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification allows me to understand and voice my opinion on certain topics in the office. At Unilever, we speak in acronyms. All of my learning from my training allows me to understand more what certain acronyms mean and also how to take my learnings and adapt to UL standards.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is plenty of extra curricular activities at work! I play a large part in Unilever's Digi Development Team, a team of apprentices, IP's and Grads, who look after the UnileverCareersUK IG. As well as this, I get involved on the UKI Employee Branding Team, as well as Unilever's LGBTQIA+ Network, Proud.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Unilever has allowed me to find more about myself than I would've discovered anywhere else. I joined UL at the age of 16, right out from my GCSE's, and was worried that I wouldn't cope with the pressure. Almost a year and a half later, I am leading projects across multiple fronts, leading teams and being able to do what I love in an environment which values my talent.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Be yourself! Whenever I have done a Q&A panel with UL and people ask for my advice, I always try to stress how important it is to be yourself in applications, interviews, discovery centres etc. The Future Careers Team want to see the real you, this will be the same version of you that you will bring to work everyday.
