  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Early and late shifts every other week. Currently shadowing the chemist's in the Chemical Production Lab. I work on up to 4 batch reactors a day, 2 purification processes and industrial vacuum ovens.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed new skills and improved others. I have improved on my eye for detail and retaining information. I have learned to multitask and jot down everything I learn.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying my Apprenticeship. I have worked in 2 different areas and they have both been interesting in their own ways

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I know when my assessments, i know what is expected of me. All the people I work with are very happy to help me with any assignments if it requires knowledge of a task I have not yet taken part in.

  • I have been learning my role in work so I have been able to apply the knowledge from the lessons on the wider industry.

  • Lots of opportunities presented by the apprenticeship committee and other managers

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • AstraZeneca is a career for life. You can learn so much about the process industry and the systems used on site. The company has a great reputation and if you are interested in the science industry, AstraZeneca is the place to be. It also offers massive support to all apprentices to help achieve the best results possible.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • Try your hardest and be yourself. If you show AstraZeneca your potential, they will work to get you to your potential. It is a diverse place to work and the range of personalities that work here is very broad.
