Everyday requires different tasks. I work on a financial account, so sometimes I will be inputting forecasts, checking actuals, recognising revenue or processing invoices. It is important I communicate and work with the EM's and PM's to discuss any issues. Throughout the month-end, I must identify imbalances in financial sheets and reach out to the FC's, who can help trace and amend any problems. Together, we correct any issues and finalise the engagements on time, where I have to round up the month by presenting a concise and informative review of the month-end to senior colleagues.
Time management is a main one because with a Degree Apprenticeship many people can find the work overwhelming, so prioritising and organising your work can be extremely useful - allowing you to maintain a work/life balance at the same time. I would also say professional communication. You quickly learn what needs to be sent as a Teams message and what would be better sent by email. I valuable quality of this apprenticeship is that you get a high level of freedom and responsibility, where you can improve your professional vocabulary by working with many senior colleagues.
I love the programme, it was everything I expected and more! Your instantly welcomed into the company and treated as any other colleague. Capgemini provide multiple supportive techniques and tools in numerous different areas and the belief that you don't have a social life in my experience is not true. You get plenty of networking opportunities and chance to work with new people.
The structure of the EET area is great and there are plenty of internal initiatives to get involved in. You can see Capgemini have vast experience in this programme and have been running it for years. The only thing with a lack of structure in this programme is when it comes to University, however this is external.
You get more than enough support. From mentor's, buddy's, work teams and every other employee is always offering their support. I am 5-6 months into the apprenticeship and I am already looking to start my own mentoring scheme. This shows 2 things: that apprentices get great opportunities to start and pursue initiatives they are interested in and it also shows another opportunity that allows apprentices to connect with experienced individuals who's goals and expertise align.
This is probably an area of improvement, however I am leading my first month-end now, so in regards to training and continuous improvement - it is clear that I am making progress. Capgemini are a company that really value the Degree Apprenticeship route and this is evident because they ensure they give you enough time to take study leave and work on University work.
My qualification through the training provider has definitely helped me perform better in my role. It gave me a solid understanding of key concepts like financial analysis and project management, which I use regularly in my work. The training also improved my time management and communication skills, helping me work more efficiently with my team. Overall, it’s made me feel more confident and capable in handling my tasks.
There are many and many opportunities to start your own. In the next year, I hope to start my own football initiative for where I live, but I am participating in many already. Some of these include: mentoring, standardisation, communications and an opportunities board.

It's a fantastic place to grow both professionally and personally. As a degree apprentice, you get the best of both worlds – you’re working with a global leader in technology and consulting while also continuing your education. Capgemini offers a supportive environment with great mentors and colleagues who genuinely care about your development. The combination of hands-on experience and academic learning has allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in real-world scenarios, which makes the apprenticeship really rewarding. Plus, the company encourages continuous learning and offers plenty of opportunities to advance your career. It’s a great company for anyone looking to build a solid foundation for their future.
The simple answer is to be yourself - bring good energy make sure you are smiling and enthusiastic about the role. Relate interview answers to your real life experiences - for example, if it asked you what your biggest strength is, you can relate this strength to a time in your life that you used this strength. Also, do your research on the company. Know the core values, a few projects they are on, the companies purpose, maybe some sustainability plans. Don’t feel like you have to use up all the recording time, get your point across, back it up with some experience in your life and then end the recording, you don’t want to start waffling to use the time up. Finally, don’t over practice your answers - you want to come off natural and don’t want to sound robotic, but there is nothing wrong with a plan!
