Performing administrative tasks on behalf of several pension schemes and answering queries from pension scheme members.
I have learned to use several pieces of dedicated pensions admin software and have developed my knowledge of the structures and rules of pension schemes.
I have found the programme very enjoyable and rewarding.
The programme is mostly well-structured but it can sometimes be hard to balance the responsibilities of the job with the requirements of the apprenticeship.
I have regular check-ins with a dedicated apprentice rep, and also receive support from my team leader and my assigned apprenticeship buddy.
I have semi-regular meetings with the training provider, but these are not as frequent as my contact with my employer.
I have found elements of the external training useful, but I feel that most of my improvement has been the result of on the job experience.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved in social activities, although I have not personally taken part in many.
Yes
I have worked for a lot of companies over the years (I am an older apprentice), and BW is considerably friendlier and more supportive than anywhere else I've worked.
The BW apprenticeship programme isn't just for school leavers. It's a great opportunity to change careers later in life.
