  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a project assistant working to improve and harmonise national and international processes. This can involve developing new tools, processes, stakeholder engagement, tracking and reporting as well as change management.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills. I previously worked in a buying role for over 10 years and had limited knowledge of project management processes when starting my new role. The apprenticeship has helped me gain confidence and development my skills in this area.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as it is challenging me to learn new skills. It is also challenging to do the additional study alongside my day to day job. I am happy that I am able to develop myself in the hope to aid career progression.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The use of the Aptem software is well organised and structured in modules which is useful. I can find it challenging to understand the requirements of the EPA however I know that due to changes coming it has been hard to be guided on this.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support when needed from my Manager. There has been elements of the apprenticeship I have found challenging to relate to my current role. I have been supported to seek learning opportunities outside of my role to aid the examples I need.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have scheduled catch ups with my Tutor to practice professional discussions as well as feedback on work I submit via the portal.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the qualification is getting me to think differently and understand what tools and techniques could benefit my projects. I have been able to show my team skills I am learning to improve our efficiencies.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a few things such as football or netball teams that are arranged however this is not something I have personally taken part in.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have been able to work in different areas of the business and now I am able to complete an internationally recognised qualification alongside my role.

  • To research Aldi before applying and consider how your skills and experience would support the role available.
