As an apprentice I'm taught about what skills I need to use whilst completing my apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter. I measure and make sure components are in tolerance and I help to create different components.
I had some pre-existing skills when at college before starting the apprenticeship which have been developed. One of those skills was using measuring equipment accurately.
I enjoy the comradery when put with a good group of people in the placements and I enjoy the work I get to see and experience.
The shifts are constantly structured in the same way with the same timings but sometimes, there have been events or meetings that haven't been mentioned to apprentices only a day or two before they're actually meant to be held.
I have recieved plenty of support from my employer whether it was a struggle with work or if I was off sick and needed help with sick notes etc.
I recieve as much support as they can give without it turning into them giving me the answers - which I would say is a lot of support.
My training provider have provided the theoretical training and information I would need to know with my apprenticeship and for my qualification l.
From what I know and from the information that has been given, I'm not 100% sure about any extra-curricular activities that I could he part of through my work
Yes
Even though there have been tough moments, the apprenticeship is a guaranteed way to get a good job that provides the support someone would need.
Make sure that the application you send in is for the job you truly want and make sure to keep notes of things that either go wrong or you're a bit unsure about so that you can question it if needed and have the information available.
