  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day-to-day consists of learning as a network engineer on an educational side of things and on a job role side of things. It also includes some troubleshooting and admin work occasionally. There is always something to do which is also great!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to use more of the equipment used on a daily basis on both software and hardware. This includes becoming more proficient in my workflow on what Im using. I also have devolved much better presentation and speaking skills in my journey.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I greatly enjoy my programme and what im doing as well as progressing too! I feel I have grown quicker in my career and education quicker than I have expected! There is always something to do and everyone is very welcoming and friendly too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very organised on the company side of things however the Training Provider was less organised at the beginning and sometimes still are. However, this has not stunted any growth, and the support is still given. The structure is felt and has a lot of thought put into it especially by company.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support and is always given to help growth and knowledge. This is not coming from just networks but also other teams helping out and being incredibly supportive too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I always receive the support needed towards all my qualifications. However a lot of the time you may need to do your own research and as always reach out first. Nonetheless support is still there.

  • feel it helps in understanding network fundamentals and how they work, it also helps my growth in learning other qualifications as a stepping stone.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many to do if you just ask people and get to know others. These are amazing times and worth the time and effort to go!
