  • I do a variety of different tasks; from designing new tools for the line, programming robots, or working hands on to fix tooling. I can do this as I follow a 6 week rotation plan so I can experience a wide range of jobs.

  • I have developed many skills since joining Cummins, I've developed my problem-solving and my ability to think quickly on my feet from being down on the production line where you need to be quick and effective.

  • I love the programme, I work with loads of great people and really enjoy what I do day to da.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I follow a straightforward programme and course structure, I know exactly who I can speak to if I have a problem. The uni course is also well structured.

  • Whenever I need a hand they are more than accommodating, people are always open to offering advice and a helping hand.

  • Whenever I need a hand they are more than accommodating, people are always open to offering advice and a helping hand. Extra support can be requested which is of very high standard.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In every aspect from applied mechanics to engineering practices it helped me understand the role of an engineer and how to be more effective.

  • I take part in lots of volunteering opportunities, from career events at local schools to gardening for local charities.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, and the work is very interesting but not to intence. I have and will continue to recommend apprenticeships at Cummins.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
  • Gain experience with hands-on projects but most importantly have a true passion for engineering.
