  • My role includes the completion of pension administrative tasks such as retirement set ups and illustrations whilst also answering the phone via a helpline to members regarding their queries.

  • I have developed my communication skills when handling calls and any contact with members alongside my confidence. I have also been successful with developing my technical skills and learning to use new software's for my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I would recommend this programme to a lot of people as it is new and different whilst also helping develop my skills. I am also motivated to come to work which is very important.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well structured and organised which different parts of the apprenticeship completed at specific times throughout. This includes the assessments and the assignments that we complete throughout.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I can gratefully say that they offer a vast amount of support in the working environment and there is so much room for personal development and growth. They encourage you to try new things and help you learn from mistakes.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • You are able to contact the training provider for any assistance on assignments they have sent and they also push you in the right direction when it comes to any amendments. But they do not offer as much support as my employer.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that so far it has helped me understand the world of pensions in significantly more depth but also allowed me to understand the application of any knowledge learnt to my role. For example empathy and patience when handling calls.

  • Yes, they offer multiple extra-curricular activities for example football and netball.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Barnett Waddingham because it is a very positive working environment with a lot of support and offers the ability to grow with the company. Not only this but there is respect and they value workplace culture.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barnett Waddingham?
  • Read up on the company and what they have to offer and learn about the values to then reflect how they apply to you. I would also say to be yourself and bring a positive outlook to the table.
