  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • Day to day, I am working on large infrastructure project where I am a CAD technician, undertaking roles such as modelling all the MEP assets as well as a role in the sizing of the equipment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

    • I have greatly improved my communication skills, this has been through speaking during client meetings, showing my drawings and explaining why I have made these decisions.

    • I really enjoy my programme as I have a good balance between work and university.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

    • Every semester I have 2/3 modules where I have to pass to move onto the next semester and this has been very clear, in terms of what is expected to pass that module.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

    • My employer is very supportive, allowing me time to study in my work week, allowing me to be less stressed about my exams.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

    • As a DDS student the university has been very helpful with my condition, giving me support when I ask for it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

    • Most modules I complete at university have been helpful at work, because these are relevant this allows me to apply my knowledge in projects

    • At work, we have plenty of opportunities for everyone; language classes, sports days and plenty of social activities every couple of weeks.
