I find the programme very rewarding, getting to be involved with projects and work that have a tangible impact on the world providing benefit to others
I have a day off work per week to carry out my studies, which are organised in an online portal for ease of access and make keeping track/ progress very simple.
Everyone at Mott MacDonald is very supportive and always willing to help. Any questions I have are answered to the best of my colleagues abilities. Any Apprenticeship queries can be answered by my training provider, who I have a regular 1-1 meeting with or during a weekly apprenticeship catch up call which has been organised by all current apprentices in my company at various stages of my scheme
The majority of learning is online and at your own pace however lectures are streamed live weekly so these can be attended to ask questions. The process of requesting a separate meeting with any staff is very simple and provides the opportunity for more in depth discussions about any content or assessment which may be more complex. Furthermore the learning portal contains a forum which is regularly updated with any queries responded to.
This varies based on the specific workload and course content, some of the modules I have studied have been directly and instantly helpful whilst at work (e.g. measurement and quantification skills and business economics modules) whereas others provide a strong basis for understanding processes which occur but may not be directly relevant to my daily work at this time.
The Mott MacDonald community is very active with office and location based events occurring regularly. The company social team often run sports events and other groups (such as language learning and board game groups), whilst the higher management regularly come into the office for training/catch up meetings. These often result in a social/networking event running after work.
