My role involves doing a variety of different tasks at different times. I have weekly tasks that I complete such as payment inputting and approving invoices. I also have monthly tasks which I have to do such as reconciling intercompany, completing my cashbook and posting journals and I have yearly tasks such as checking the yearly accounts and more. Along with all of this I have to develop my knowledge in my studies and complete exams.
I have learnt many new technical skills such as using accounting software and becoming an expert with excel. I have also developed my communication and teamworking skills by coordinating with my colleagues and other teams to complete tasks. I have also developed my prioritisation and time management skills through dealing with the many tasks I have been given.
I have really enjoyed my programme as the people around me have been very welcoming and helpful, whenever I'm in trouble there is always someone to help. As a result of this I have been constantly developing my skills and have enjoyed myself while doing it.
The programme is very well structured. It's been decided in advanced what time I will be learning certain modules and completing my exams, as well as this it has also been decided when I will be attending workshops to develop more of my soft skills. As a result of this I know what's going to happen in the future and it enables me to prepare to the best of my ability.
Since starting everyone has been really helpful, whenever I have needed any help there is always someone there to help. My manager has also been having regular meetings with me to discus my progress and further development which has made me realise all the ways I can improve and take the most out of this oppertunity.
The tutors explain the content very well which has resulted in me passing my first exam, they also provide support after class if needed. They also provide us with a talent coach to develop more of our other skills to pass the apprenticeship, but sometimes they take too long to reply to messages.
I've only done one module so far so I haven't gained too much knowledge but in the future I hope to gain more to further progress me in my role.
