  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the programme as this has opened my mind to a different level of Thought Leadership, I begin to expand my horizons on the bigger picture of the business which allowed me to collaborate with Exec stakeholders, helping bridging the business processes with digital technologies of a large scale operation.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has undergone structure changes over the years which is notable among the staff. This is also evident from a student experience due to the carousel design. There are duplicate processes due to the changes which is not well handled through the different tutors, coaches, professional supervision and programme directors, creating confusion on students. The lengthy handbooks contains obsolete information. It is still more efficient than a previous apprenticeship experience which I dropped due to the lack of organisation.

  • I receive the necessary support to be able to take time to perform my apprenticeship activities, also with opportunities to engage in projects and activities which allow me to develop on my KSBs. My employer is also fully supportive during reviews and feedback sessions. I am grateful to have an opportunity to undertake a Level 7 apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the apprenticeship has been crucial to allow me to operate on a superior level than before, considering I have increased my profile within the client to collaborate with Directors of various departments. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Unfortunately not, I would like to be able to take part on further events and networking opportunities. I have also felt left out when I was not invited to participate in events tailored for Apprentices, considering DXC has a large number of trainees. I believe I have the potential to inspire other individuals with my career and experience but I am not recognised by that. Full time remote working has also decreased my opportunities to engage and network with customers and colleagues.

There are also a number of free certifications available technology giants such as Oracle, AWS, Google Cloud depending on the Application Service Level the person works on. Other programs such as Skill Up allow employees to develop on areas of their interest that may not fully available. Additionally DXC University has a vast collection of training materials for multiple areas.

  • Be prepared to be challenged to drive your own career development path. You are encouraged to think about where you want your career to go and have the steering wheel to direct it. You can also count on a Coach approach adopted by leaders to draw out your potential.
