  • My role involves proofreading and cross-referencing documents, as well as learning and interacting with visual programming systems.

  • I have both learnt new skills whilst developing existing ones.

  • The programme is as enjoyable as a normal job. University is also a great time to socialise, but this is weekly.

  • The structure has been a bit haphazard, but this is the first year since the apprenticeship was restructured, so this is most likely an anomaly.

  • I receive all the support I ask for.

  • Regular reviews as well as freely contactable lecturers.

  • The degree is very cross-functional, and I can foresee the degree helping with day-to-day work activities.

  • There are plenty of clubs and social events which allow you to bond with new people. You can also start your own if you feel as though there is a gap.

  • Yes

  • The environment is rewarding to work in, colleagues are friendly and approachable, and everyone is more than willing to help with any problems you have


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Show off your soft skills as much as you can. Qualities like decision-making, teamwork, time management and organisation go a long way in proving yourself.
