I work at premier inn as an appointed person and front of house. This involves helping out with breakfasts, working on the reception helping guests with any requests. I then manage the till and the financials after breakfast. Support with any cleaning. Then check the rooms after the house keepers have done their jobs. It is a very fast paced job..
I have learnt a lot many different things and I have come to realise that Communication and having communication goals are very important. It has been interesting learning about the 7-38-55 rule within communication 7-38-55 Rule of Communication The 7-38-55 Rule refers to the breakdown of how we communicate, based on research by psychologist Albert Mehrabian in the 1970s. According to his study, communication is made up of three components: 7%: Words (the actual content of what we say) 38%: Tone of Voice (how we say the words—this includes things like pitch, volume, and inflection) 55%: Body Language (this includes facial expressions, posture, gestures, and other non-verbal cues)
I have enjoyed every minute of it. The enjoyment of learning new things and skills that I can transfer onto my every day job and my tutor is just incredible the time an effort she puts in to work with me is just great.
Very organised the layout of what is expected is easy to follow and we are able to do things and the tasks at our own pace.

I have learnt so much so far and when I am dealing with guests I think about certain things I have learnt like how I communicate and how to use HEARTwhen dealing with a bad request.
