Cover the leather onto the carrier parts that go into the interior of the car we make 14 cars a day and we work from 6:00 until 2:30 so the hours are really good a permanent early.
New skills how to cover leather I have learnt how to work efficiently in takt times of around 30 minutes also I have done placement all within leather shop so I have a really good understanding of local area like doors, seats, sewing etc.
I really enjoyed the program really good money good working hours and really good opportunity's to progress a career.
Really well organized from craft skills to college to the placements at work couldn't fault it any issues I had were always raised and sometimes out of the businesses control.
Received full support on planning my placements if I was ever worried about something gave me set dates to review my apprenticeship every 6 month and if was all good was rewarded with a salary increase couldn't fault it.
Yh same again full support from college and help towards gate way and my EPA at work and I passed so all went well and my tutor graham has been helpful throughout my course.
Well it would be nice to do actual training that correlates sometime like I am a leather coverer but a collage we never once did leather covering but did skills that were related to manufacturing like working on engines and engineering with lathe machines so correlated but not completely.
Yh there's a lot of school event that you are able to do outside and during work hours to promote the apprenticeship like green goblin were you help school children build go karts.
Yes
Great money a really good start in life good opportunity for people aged 16 like myself with there first job from school and I have defiantly recommended this job to friends.
Try as hard as possible in the assessment centers to give you the best chance of getting the job and be patient with the course at the start your not always going to be doing things you enjoy.
