My role is to help put inserts on the frigate Kent. This is done by me usually helping to take paint off or to help cut out the plate that needs to be inserted.
I have developed my grinding skills massively in the past few months, I have also gained new skills like correct bevelling and angling on job pieces.
I enjoy my programme as it gives me a lot of experience to and knowledge to be able to use for my future career.
The programme is well organised, with me having a theory day one day a week with city college Plymouth and practical days in the dockyard for the rest.
My employer gives me the correct advice when I need it and if I need to know anything to do with the apprenticeship.
My training provider gives me the correct support when I need it to help me towards my qualifications like one file work.
The qualification through my training provider helps me perform better on my role as it feeds me with the correct knowledge to complete tasks in my role.
There are volunteering schemes that can be done to help share our experience as apprentices.
Yes
It has a good training provider and employer to be able to help with developing my skills and knowledge for me to carry on for the future.
To keep up with one file work as it can pile up easily through the year. Take notes during college lessons to help revise for the end of year exams.
