  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • decorating- variety of tasks depending on the job from prep work to cutting in to painting ceilings windows walls etc. very wide variety.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i believe i have not. my people skills have definitely improved. i feel more confident talking about the subject of work and talking to random people.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i’d say i enjoy it most days, it’s a very repetitive job especially if your suck in the same job for more than 6 months. however that’s the nature of the job and u just have to keep a open, postitive mind.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i’d say it’s very organised all the resources and support i need is availible to me if asked for.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i get tremendous amount of support which i’m very greatful for. eg - i get some money back on fuel. which is a huge help as the apprentice wage isn’t great.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i get a huge amount of support through the college, my college tutor and also the guys i work with on site.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i’d say they have things like bonuses which if u complete a task on time or to a good standard you are awarded with a little bonus at the end of the week which definetly puts you in the mindset for doing well on a job/task

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • i wouldn’t say so.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Bagnalls to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • they provide excellent support in whatever you need they have mental health support and overall i believe bagnalls cares about their workers and supports them wherever necessary. they do the upmost work to ensure that their employees are okay. many may not appreciate it and think it’s a waste of time but there are people out there who definitely benefit from bagnalls and their support system.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bagnalls?
  • i’d say just be you. keep a positive mind and just get to know anyone u can make friends it’s more enjoyable that way!
