My role was within the Automation Team, I helped maintain automations that support employees inside the Council be more efficient.
I've been upskilled during my apprenticeship and now I'm on a level 4 apprenticeship due to this upskilling. But lack of resources (senior experience staff) cause a lot of self skilling.
10/10 I'd do it again and again. Love the people I work with and I love my job.
Being my first apprenticeship this is to be expected, the further into my apprenticeship I got the better it was.
My employer always had an ear when I needed to talk, and I didn't feel shy to talk due to that matter.
10/10, Barnsley College was literally perfect. My tutor was great, and genuinely wanted me to succeed.
Being apart of the Automation Team, my qualification helped learn around that. However I learned nothing about how to do my job more effectively through college. However that is not my employers fault as there is no course for my specific job role.
The authority has its young club for new and young employees to welcome people in. I also went on several outing with my team.
Yes
Great work life balance which balances out with pay, WFH 2 days a week as well as a great office environment.
Read the job profile on the job application, it matters and the questions will be based around that PDF document.
