  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The company has set up an apprenticeship team - these are great, it is a little more difficult with your line manager as its not BAU for them and now takes away headcount. Also have a review with them every 3 months is difficult to arrange and adds to the stress.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of places to go for support, they've introduced several tutors and clearly explained how they can all help. And they have a great online platform which is fantastic for the type of program we're on where we're not on campus 24/7

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is but the company is diverse geographically, so my local team is very small which makes social events difficult. They are trying to improve this.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Great benefits and opportunities - I have managed to get my BA honours degree and now studying a masters whilst maintain a decent salary (and no student fees). It has its problems like any large bank does but generally is a fab place to work for work life balance.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Be yourself, we like a variety of personalities and what they bring to the table. We love a structure, follow the STARL format for any answers in interviews.
