  • Care assistant - my role is to look after the residents in there home. Such as helping them with there personal care, washing and dressing and assisting them with meals and fluids

  • I've learnt alot of new skills with completing my course especially with understanding the policies and procedures in place within the home.

  • I enjoyed the programme and enjoyed learning new things to help me day to day with my job role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it was well organised and I was informed in advance what I needed to do next.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received alot of support from my employer but sometimes wasn't staff on when I needed to be taken off the floor to have a chat with my coach which meant it was rushed and had to be taken in my own time or on my day off.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Even when my confidence dropped and I thought I couldn't complete certain modules she pushed me to carry on and saw that I completed them on time and made me feel confident in doing so.

  • I feel that my qualification has helped me more to perform better in my role as I understand more in my job role and can put what I have learnt through the course in action.

  • Not that I know of.

  • 9a. Would you recommend HC-One to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I love our home and it's a lovely place to work. We have a great team at the orchards and a great supporting manager.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HC-One?
  • Go for it!! 7 years ago I never knew a thing about care. Now I couldn't see me doing anything else. I love what I do. Such a hard but rewarding job.
