My role as an apprentice is to gain as much academic knowledge and experience as I can during the apprenticeship. We are involved in different activities each day, each as a chance to learn.
I've learnt several new skills while doing the apprenticeship, while also reinforcing many of the skills I already have.
I am happy with how the work system is put in place, and how the roadmap for the apprenticeship is going.
It is fairly quite a new program for the company, but still it is showing a high level of structure, while also improving quite steadily.
Help is provided when asked for, and there are structures put in place if further help is required.
The support from the training provider is great, usually very fast responses too.
The qualification gives you plenty of hands on experience, which is well needed, while also supplying a great bit of knowledge to what you are doing.
There are company based events that apprentices can apply to, but on a apprenticeship basis only, there aren't any extra activities, only self induced activities, like self study session for example.
Yes
It is a great industry to get into, and offers a lot of help and support to someone who is keen and dedicated.
Whatever you put in, expect to get double out of it.
