  • I run the retail and hospitality for the University of Sussex ensuring exceptional standards are set and met, whilst driving efficiency

  • Yes, broader business management skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Programme was often disjointed form the provider side, with little support available from tutor. Employer was able to offer me increased exposure and opportunities to work in other areas of Compass Group

  • It was okay, final year modules were offered but not all available so i didn't get to specialize in the subjects i was most interested in

  • My initial manager was great and made sure i had time and autonomy to do the work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A pretty standard amount, i prefer to work fairly independently but was often left waiting for advice and support which was delayed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gave me a broader understanding of how other functions and department operate not only in the hospitality industry but other industries that i could draw on in my day to day. I was also able to have better more directive conversations with SME's

  • 9a. Would you recommend Compass Group UK & Ireland to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Faultless in terms of offering and supporting development activities, the only thing that is challenging is the opportunities for progression and application. This often makes me look elsewhere for a role where i can implement and pursue these areas.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass Group UK & Ireland?
  • Look past the initial role and see the potential for development and pivot into other areas that may be of interest
