  • I work in the resolutions department as an apprentice where we the first line of support to our customers, advisers and members. I am responsible for investigating, resolving and responding to issues which could carry a financial, regulatory or reputational implication for the business. The role is extremely varied and provides a great foundation for fulfilling career aspirations.

  • I have exponentially developed my attention to detail and analytical skills through this job as each case we are given requires thorough investigation. As well as that we have a strong belief with actually having conversations with our clients over the phone and I have thoroughly improved my skills on speaking over the phone with clients.

  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme and happy I came here. Fidelity fully supports us in doing further qualifications and exploring other departments as well which I am interested in.

  • The programme is well-organised and structured, providing valuable learning opportunities and support. However, there is slight room for improvement in communication between Fidelity and the learning provider to ensure smoother coordination and more efficient information exchange.

  • There is plenty of support provided by Fidelity, whether it comes from our manager, buddy, or through various support schemes that the company offers. The comprehensive support network ensures that apprentices feel guided and encouraged throughout their programme, contributing to their professional and personal development.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Fidelity provides us with plenty of support through a dedicated skills coach, informative videos on each topic, practice questions, and mock exams. This comprehensive approach ensures that apprentices have the resources and guidance needed to succeed in their programme and develop their skills effectively.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) covers many topics that are highly relevant to my day-to-day role. This qualification equips me with essential knowledge and skills, significantly enhancing my performance and contributing to my professional development within the company. It’s a valuable asset in improving my effectiveness at work.

  • Yes, there are several extra-curricular activities at work, such as social events and professional networking opportunities. We have many team events that promote camaraderie and collaboration. However, I believe there is room for more activities to further enhance our work-life balance and strengthen team relationships.
