As a buying and merchandising apprentice I'm involved with the brands which Amazon works with as well as having the opportunity to find new brands for the company, alongside this I monitor the performance of certain products or subcategories.
I have built my knowledge on using certain programmes and analysing data which I hadn't tackled before, Amazon has also provided the opportunity to be able to practice and build upon my own public speaking at events.
With no doubt did I make the right decision in applying to Amazon, no two days are the same and I am able to explore parts of the role which interest me, in addition I have enjoyed meeting and networking with likeminded individuals.
With training providers there is continuous support if there is ever an assignment which you are struggling with, as well as support from line managers and designated buddy's for all new joiners at Amazon.
Amazon are able to accommodate specialist requests within reason as a neurodivergent individual. I also receive support in follow up meetings and surveys
We have quarterly reviews however my trainer emphasizes how you can reach out at any time about questions or tasks.
Having a wider understanding of the world of buying from an educational standpoint has allowed me to understand why certain product sales have been affected in certain ways and why this is.
There are a number of affinity groups and volunteering events available, I took on a role as a Community Ambassador for Amazon.

With a wide range of courses there is something for everyone, and with Amazon's continuous support it accommodates school leavers such as myself, they have provided a fantastic range of opportunities in different departments to help me later on in my career.
Across all job roles to look heavily into the company culture and what Amazon stands for, this is integral when joining and having a solid understanding will put you ahead in assessment centres.
