Install or fault finding within the telecommunications industry. Testing signal strength cable for damages or installing new products from scratch by running cables, drilling and installing customers goods. Each job is different and have to adapt language to each customers needs. Overall different each day work and a good company.
Everything I have learned has been new as I had no previous experience. Fault finding techniques and learning to start from which was classroom based to being out with. A mentor I have learned how our company abides buly legislations and how to work on a safe manner by using the equipment and CPE provided
I enjoy each day as it is different and get to interact with different people. It allows me to express my personality whilst giving customers satisfaction on the job I am doing. This is powered through bonuses and allows me to want to do my best at each job I go to.
The programme through Apprentify would be done a little better with more explanation on the self study log and what to do. Virgin media could provide more one to one learning after training courses as we get chucked straight into installations after a classroom learning. Overall very good experience from the course.
I receive support from the employer everyday, whether its support on jobs that I am stuck on or need to ask questions theirs always someone at hand to reply. They also provide very good health support and are funding me to find an issue in my neck which is causing discomfort
The training provider provides as much support as we need. Study days to complete the portfolio to going through what we will be expecting at the end of the examwhen we get there.
It allowed me to understand the job in more detail and allows me to explain to the customers in more depth about the product we have and how we offer it.
We do team days together such as paintballing, go karting and are trying to set up a football team
Yes
Great company, lots of support where needed and allows independence
Be patient, it's overwhelming at first but after time you will get more confident. I almost quit the job but my manager supported me and reassured me it will fall into place
