  • Daily management of an operational workforce alongside forward planning and reporting to business stakeholders.

    4/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. I am trying to use what I am learning and feeding into my daily tasks to help with making more informed decisions.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Honestly, it changes from day to day. I thought I had considered everything before taking on the apprenticeship in relation to my daily workload and having a work life balance, some days I am not sure I did.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is professionally run and well structured. I personally find the fully online/digital approach for learning not conducive with my preferred learning style. This makes it harder for me.

    9/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line managers have been very supportive when I have discussed it with them. Aside from that no one is taking any interest

    2/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My first DLC was brilliant and my FS Tutor has been really supportive.

    8/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I was hoping it would help me analyse data better and make more informed decisions. I am still learning and am now questioning if I picked the right apprenticeship for me.

    5/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Absolutely not, Royal Mail lost it community spirt a long time ago.

    1/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Royal Mail to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Since privatisation we have been in a constant state of flux with no real direction or leadership. I want to feel like I work for a company that wants to succeed not just survive.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Royal Mail?
  • We are a national institution offering great pay and T&C's, but we have many challenges. We need people to drive that change and make us the competition.
