  • My role on a day to day basis revolves around the Piling package, constantly learning about the design and implementation of foundations. This is critical in my learning and development.

  • Yes, I have developed my leadership and teamworking skills, making the project I have worked on thus far very beneficial.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as I am always busy, this has taught me to thrive under pressure and learn the importance of meeting deadlines on time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is extremely well structured, as Mace offers training internally, not just with our respective study groups, travelling to London for theses sessions is invaluable.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, my employer is always ensuring I have no qualms with how my start is going, furthermore allocating me a buddy who is in a similar field to the one I am in, has been very beneficial, there are many peers to talk to.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a large amount of support from my training provider (South & City College Birmingham) as they are constantly linking my external studies to my in-person work life, with the 2 working simultaneously with each other, this makes for an excellent combination, full of new learning.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification definitely helps me perform better in my role, as mentyioned the two are very interlinked, meaning I can apply knowledge and learning from both work and study life to each other.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, I have represented Mace at RICS football chrity event, whilst also attending regular social drinks with colleagues, this helps improve team morale and made the whole experience of joining a new role and cohort a lot easier, as this broke the ice.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Mace is excellent with individual development, I have evolved as a person over the last 7 months and have a clear idea on where I want my future / career to be with this company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
  • Be yourself. Mace is a company based on meritocracy, rather than nepotism, it's not about what you look like or what you know, it is about what type of character you are, those are the ones who will develop as characters and yield the best results in the future.
